About the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association
The Colorado Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) is the voice of the automotive retail industry throughout the state. Our 260 dealers range from small, family-owned dealerships to nationally owned multiple-franchise corporations.
Our History
CADA was founded in 1933 by a small number of Colorado dealers organizing to protest a federal excise tax that would raise the price of vehicles to their customers and hurt the few sales they already had. Building on that success, the association was incorporated five years later.
Advocacy
As the automobile dealer trade association, CADA advocates on issues of importance to the auto industry in general, Colorado auto dealers in particular, and Colorado’s driving public. Legislation and regulation range in complexity from straightforward to incredibly complex. We encourage dealers to check our publications – Above the Fold and Bulletin – as well as our LinkedIn feed for concise explanations of how our state is impacting your business.
Education
Things change quickly in the automotive industry, but CADA is dedicated to helping dealers stay ahead of the curve. When the legislative term ends in May of each year, we turn our attention to keeping dealers compliant with the new legislation passed in each session.
Board of Directors
CADA is governed by a Board of Directors. Dealers are broken down into 8 districts that align with Colorado’s US Congressional Districts. There is a 5-person executive committee and several ad hoc seats for leaders of event committees.
Our Staff
CADA’s Chief Executive Officer/President and Chief Operating Officer are responsible for daily operations and direct nine staff members at CADA headquarters in Denver. Their efforts ensure our organization runs smoothly.
